VINTAGE LABELS

We love dressing up with vintage at Work Shop. Like a lot of what we make, its fun to wear something very special while knowing the masses don't own it too!

We were rummaging through our vintage finds the other day and noticed how interesting the inside tags are, with old-worldly typography, not to mention how some of the label names sound all too 'familiar'?

They not just look cool but tell something about what fashion was like at the time they were made. Have a look!

P.S: for those who haven't noticed yet, 80's is now officially vintage! come in and see what we've got in store!

DIVINE MADNESS

Part dress ups, part eccentric couture is the best way to describe the style of fashion designer Alice Rawlinson. The name Divine Madness perfectly represents her contradictory style of design, embodying both daring and feminine qualities simultaneously.

The latest collection ‘Skin’ was built around the idea of distortion of the human body, stemming from a fascination with alien life forms. Using a neutral colour palette and unusual draping of fabric, a kind of excess skin is created, which is manipulated into a range of designs. The fabric choices allow the designs to remain soft and feminine, despite the collection’s unworldly connotations.

LUCKY CHARMS

The best thing about a lucky charms necklace is that each individual piece carries a story. Collected from different places at different times, when combined together it doesn't have to make sense!

This one at Work Shop features a telephone, a hot dog, hair combs, hearts, and a boy and girl kissing. The pieces were collected from various spots in London and Glasgow to get the collection started. As for covering the rest of the chain - its up to you!
